Everything Momentum does

Productivity apps manage tasks. Momentum manages the part that actually fails: starting, staying, stopping well, and coming back. Every feature below exists because an ADHD brain needed it.

No setup. A ready-to-use demo opens instantly.

Chapter I

Starting

You rarely fail because you don't know what to do. You fail because starting is the expensive part.

AI breakdown into 5-minute steps

Type a goal in plain words. AI returns 5โ€“9 concrete steps, each under five minutes, each starting with a verb โ€” and the first one is always trivially easy, because the on-ramp is everything.

Plans that know your setup

Tell Momentum you own a dishwasher and a robot vacuum. "Clean the kitchen" becomes "load the dishwasher" and "clear a path for the vacuum" โ€” never generic advice for a life you don't have.

Say it, don't type it

Voice input on goals and thought capture. Talking is cheaper than typing when your working memory is already full.

Spoon costs on every step

Every step carries an energy cost (1โ€“3 spoons) estimated on activation energy, not minutes โ€” a phone call is a 3 even when it takes two minutes. Adjust any cost; it's your energy.

Your plan, not the AI's

Every generated plan is fully editable before you start โ€” reword, resize, delete, add. The AI proposes; you decide.

Never blocked by an outage

If the AI is unreachable, Momentum falls back to a universal starter plan instantly. The app never makes your bad day worse.

Chapter II

Doing

Focus Mode shows one step, one button, and someone in your corner.

One step at a time

Full-screen Focus Mode: the current step, huge; one Done button (or just press Enter); nothing else to look at. Celebrations when you land it.

An AI body double

A quiet companion sits with you while you work โ€” gentle check-ins every few minutes, celebration when you finish a step, presence when you stall. Written fresh for each session, aware of your goal.

The Studio โ€” real humans

See who's working alongside you, live: "Alex โ€” writing one paragraph." No chat, no video, no pressure โ€” just parallel presence, the oldest ADHD trick there is. Anonymous by default.

Make it smaller

Any step can be split into 2-minute micro-steps with one tap. And if a step outlives its estimate, Momentum offers โ€” kindly โ€” "this step might be bigger than it looked." The step's fault. Never yours.

Just five minutes

An optional countdown ring for "let's just do five minutes." When it ends: done, or make it smaller? While it runs, nothing nags you.

The parking lot

"I need to email Dave!" โ€” park the thought in two seconds (typed or spoken) and stay on task. Review later with AI-suggested triage: trash it, make it a step, make it a goal, or keep it.

Chapter III

Stopping well โ€” and coming back

ADHD makes stopping as hard as starting, and restarting hardest of all.

Soft landings

"Come back later" asks one skippable question โ€” where did you leave off? โ€” and next session opens with your own note. The restart tax drops to zero.

Hyperfocus wind-downs

Deep in it for 50 minutes, or an appointment approaching? The companion suggests finding a landing spot โ€” with a snooze, because sometimes the flow is real.

Time anchors

"Dentist at 3, leave by 2:30" โ€” and the shapeless dread before an appointment becomes "2h 40m: room for two focus sessions, and this goal fits the gap." Waiting mode, dissolved.

Chapter IV

Keeping it going

Momentum is the product โ€” not task completion.

A momentum score, not a productivity score

0โ€“100, built from your recent activity with gentle time decay. Even skipping a step earns a point โ€” you engaged, and that counts.

Streaks that bend, not break

One missed day is a rest day โ€” "6-day streak ยท 1 rest day" โ€” not a reset to zero. Apps that punish a bad day get deleted by the people who need them most.

Daily spoons check-in

One tap each morning: how many spoons today? Low-energy days get 2-minute, one-spoon steps and softer coaching. Your score never suffers for being human.

Routines that reset themselves

Mark "Morning reset" as daily and it revives itself each morning, steps fresh. Weekly works too. History and streaks carry through.

Templates for anything reusable

Pin "Pack for a trip" or "Pre-meeting reset" and start it whenever with one tap โ€” plus "Do it again" on anything you've finished.

Notifications that earn their place

Exactly three, all opt-in: time to leave for your anchor, your morning routine is ready, and a 7pm nudge only when a real streak is one tiny step from surviving the day.

The house rules

โ€œBuilt kind, all the way down.โ€

  • โ€” No guilt mechanics anywhere: no red, no shame copy, no punishment.
  • โ€” Honest scoring: spoons shape your plan, never inflate your points.
  • โ€” Timezone-aware automatically โ€” mornings are your mornings.
  • โ€” The Studio shares only your first name (or nothing) and your current step โ€” ever.
  • โ€” Works instantly as a guest; demo data prunes itself.
  • โ€” Every intervention is dismissible, snoozable, or opt-in.
